Maroon 5 - Maps

In June 2014, Maroon 5 dropped "Maps," the electrifying lead single from their fifth studio album, V. Crafted alongside songwriting titans Ryan Tedder and Max Martin, the track was a sonic masterclass in pop-rock fusion. It juxtaposed Adam Levine’s desperate, soaring falsetto against an infectious, urgent guitar riff that instantly hooked millions of listeners worldwide.

While the song radiated high-octane energy, its music video delivered a shocking, cinematic gut-punch. Directed by Hollywood visionary Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights), the narrative unfolded in a haunting, reverse-chronological order—a brilliant nod to Christopher Nolan’s Memento. Audiences watched in suspense as a frantic hospital emergency unravelled backward to reveal a chaotic house party and a heartbreaking tragedy, proving the band wasn't afraid to push artistic boundaries.
